Individual Initial Intake Assessment/Treatment Planning Session: $200
Individual Therapy Session: $175
Couples Initial Intake Assessment/Treatment Planning Session: $225
Couples Therapy Session: $185
Please note that the above rates are based on 1 hour therapy sessions. Some ART and EMDR sessions require extra time and therefore incur extra cost.
Payment is required at the time of service and we accept all major debit/credit cards. Please be aware that all payments made by card will incur a processing fee of 2.95% + $0.30 per transaction.
As a courtesy to you, I do not build the processing fee for using a card into my services fee so that you can avoid this fee using alternative forms of payment. If you would like to avoid this processing fee, you have the option to pay by cash or check at the time of your session.
We accept HSA/FSA funds for services. (See Section below regarding specifics on the use of HSA/FSA funds)
As a private pay practice, I am not in network with insurance companies. However, for those who would like to utilize their insurance benefits, you can still do so using what is called your Out of Network (OON) Benefits.
This means the full fee for your session is due at the time the service is provided. Monthly, I will provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement. You file this just as you would any other insurance claim.
The rate of reimbursement depends on your specific insurance provider and plan coverage. If you would like to see if you qualify for this benefit, please contact your insurance provider using the number found on the back of your insurance card.
Another convenient option to cover the cost of your sessions is through use of funds in your HSA or FSA.
Please check with your plan as some insurance providers require a Letter of Medical Necessity or Doctor's Directive for your services to be eligible. It is your responsibility to ensure that your insurance provider approves of use of these funds for mental health counseling services. Please be aware that some HSA/FSA do not cover couples counseling.
Time: approx 60 min
In this session, I will begin the process of getting to know you and answer any questions you have about therapy or my therapeutic approach.
I will begin gathering information about you and your presenting problem so that we can discuss your goals for therapy.
Time: Approx 50-60 min
In your subsequent Individual or Couples Sessions with me, we will address your symptoms and increase your ability to cope and self regulate. We move forward towards addressing what your goals are as a team using a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on your specific needs. Everyone is different so I always take an eclectic approach to discover what suits you best.
EMDR and ART sessions work a little bit different than typical therapy sessions. In these sessions we are engaging in a healing process that benefits from a longer session, often 90-120 minutes. Please plan accordingly for the possibility for a 1.5 or 2 hour session and please ensure that you have time to rest and practice self care following your sessions to aid in the natural healing process. If you have questions about rates, availability or the structure of these sessions please ask.
I require a brief phone consultation with anyone who wishes to become a patient at Novo Counseling and Wellness to ensure that my approach is the right fit for your wellness needs. You can call directly at 480-714-1050, you can send me a secure email by clicking below to arrange your consultation.

The frequency of your therapy sessions depends on current availability at my practice, your schedule, and your unique needs. I require either once weekly or biweekly sessions in the beginning of our therapeutic work together so that we can begin equipping you with the necessary coping skills to manage your symptoms and get you on your way to wellness. We can then assess your progress as we move forward and adjust how frequently we meet based on your goals for therapy.
Especially if this is your first time seeking counseling, you may have questions about the privacy of our sessions and your health information. Privacy and confidentiality are of the upmost importance when it comes to counseling. Please be assured that I have taken all of the necessary precautions to protect you and your information as dictated by law and counseling ethics.
For this reason I ask that you follow my guidelines about how to contact me to protect your privacy. I also respect and recognize that what we may cover in the context of our sessions may be very difficult to discuss, I ensure you that you will receive an open and judgment free experience always and I will keep your information confidential.
If there are any exceptions to your privacy (ie. information needed for insurance reimbursement) they are noted in the Notice of Privacy Practices which you will have an opportunity to review and sign in your intake paperwork. Confidentiality and its limits in the context of therapy will also be discussed with you in your initial session. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
